The city policy regarding the installation of street lighting on residential streets is done through a petition process. A new street light request will be evaluated by city personnel using standard criteria to determine if the request meets the requirements of the current Street Light Policy. Investigations to justify consideration for the installation of street lighting are done only for an entire block. To request a new street light please contact the Transportation Division.
After a site investigation is completed, if a new street light is justified, an application and a petition signed by the residents of property abutting on the entire block in question will be required to complete the street light request. Applications will be mailed directly to the resident requesting the street light.
